Service Trips’ Raking Fundraiser

Hello all! It’s that time of year again! Alternative Spring Breakers are looking for people who need their yards raked!

Do you, or somebody you know, live within 45 minutes of Plymouth, NH that need they’re lawn raked? If you answered yes, please look no farther than Plymouth States Alternative Spring Breakers! We would love to come and help you out before that snow falls! 

This year we are looking to get forty students out on three different services trip, one trip will work on hurricane relief in the Carolina’s, another is going to Pennsylvania for food insecurity/sustainability, and the last trip will be going on a trip for animal welfare in North Carolina.  Below is a link that you can use to sign up! Just keep in mind that each rake block is a three hour period so please be mindful when scheduling.

ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAK TRIP ADVISORS

Thank you for your interest in advising a 2018-2019 Alternative Spring Break (ASB) trip! For many years our alternative break program has been providing transformation experiences for students to give back to communities around the country. ASB combines education, strong direct service, and thoughtful reflection to create an immersive experience for students to grown through their engagement. Though our experiences are student-led, faculty and staff advisors add an important perspective to the student experience. Below is more information about the the responsibilities and application process for trip advisors. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Casey Krafton, the Active Citizenship and Engagement Associate at the Center for Transformation, at cakrafton@plymouth.edu, or come to the ASB Teams’ Information Session for anyone interested in advising a trip.

Alternative Spring Break (ASB) is a week-long service trip where participants volunteer in an area of the country focusing on a community identified need. Not only do participants get the opportunity to travel to a new region, but this is a learning experience of a lifetime through social and cultural connection. Trips will take place during spring break, March 9-17th, 2019. This year we are planning three trips focused on the following identified community needs: Hurricane Relief, Animal Welfare, and Food Insecurity/Sustainability.

Applications are due by end of day Monday October 22nd.
